iTunes 10 Has More Bugs Than My Back Garden!

On the second of September Apple had their annual music event where they released the new iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle and new iPod Touch. Apple also release the very rumored update to their Apple Tv, but did not call it “iTV” as most people were expecting.  Apple left out the iPod Classic for an update, and still has the old design.

As you can probably tell, I left out iTunes 10 from the above because I think I need to have this whole paragraph dedicated to iTunes 10.

From the start iTunes 10 did not go to plan. Steve said that iTunes 10 would have been available from today (The 2nd), and yes it was but its normally available straight after the keynote not several hours after the keynote, but this is just nitpicking. The real problem with iTunes 10, is the fact that its still has more bugs than my back garden! I would have thought Apple would have rewritten it for iTunes 10 – Like Microsoft did for Windows 7, they rewritten Windows Explorer. Apple also announced “Ping” and as Apple puts it “Its social networking for music”. I’m not sure if anyone at Apple has told Steve of Last.fm because its basically the same.

The way I see Ping is just a massive advert for artist but then again so is Facebook and Twitter. They also removed all the colour from iTunes 10, and now its a lovely grey. The only part of iTunes I actually like is their new logo, which funny enough hasn’t gone down too good. Unfortunately I’m stuck with iTunes 10, and I only wish is for Apple to fix the bugs. And in all honesty iTunes 10 does look very clean and simple to use.

On a positive side, Apple have really made the best ever iPod Touch! The new iPod Touch is now powered by Apple’s A4 chip, and now has 512MB of DRAM. But the main attraction to the new iPod Touch is the new Retina display with 24-bit colour and has a resolution of 960×640 thats 326 ppi. Apple has also added a front and back camera, the front camera being used for FaceTime. The new iPod Touch is an iPhone without a contract.

Apple have once again blown all the other MP3/4 players out of the water, and they will continue to do so.
